Percy Harris Martin Sr.

Percy Harris Martin, Sr., age 93, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at River Region Hospice in River Ridge, LA. He was a graduate of Lutcher High School, a Catholic, native of Grand Point and a farmer all of his life, mainly sugarcane and perique tobacco.

The husband of the late Edith St. Pierre Martin, the father of Barbara Martin (husband Noel) Yambra, Percy H. Martin, Jr., the late Robert D. Martin, Carol Martin (husband Carlton) Gautreau, Leo P. (wife Mary) Martin, Ray A. (the late Trudy) Martin, the late Amy M. Martin, Teddy J. Martin, the late Tammy Martin McClung, the late Edith Martin and the late Brian “Boo” Martin. Eleven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at H. C. Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher and will continue on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 8:00 am until 11:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulina with Fr. Vincent Dufresne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
