Born on January 3, 1934 in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Mauricio Libatique and the late Matilde Ferrer Libatique. Anita retired from the Bureau of Telecom and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, shopping, sewing and watching hummingbirds. Anita had a strong catholic faith and loved going to church and praying the rosary. She was a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister and she loves her family dearly.
She is survived by her children, Carlito Flores and wife Helena, Orlino Flores, Jr., Jimmy Flores and wife Myrna, Luis Flores, Maria Alicia Flores, Ferdinand Flores and wife Glynda, and Jane Flores-Tester and husband David; 13 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Aleidis Durnez; sister, Lina Merluza; brother, Manuel Libatique; and numerous other family members and friends.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Doctors and Staff of Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center, Lynchburg Family Medicine, Lynchburg Pulmonary, and Centra Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Anita.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with a rosary at 7 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. J. Kenneth Rush officiating. A reception will follow Mass and interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park at 12:45 pm.
