Born in Roanoke on March 1, 1946 he was a son of the late Jack Wood and Hazel Wood.
He was preceded in death by a step son, Kenneth Barker.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a step daughter, Holly Hatley and her husband James of Huddleston; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Whitt Mayton officiating.
