Barbara Louise Grant

Barbara Louise Grant, 69, of Lynchburg passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018 at her residence. Born in Charlottesville, November 3, 1948, she was the daughter of the late James Gibson and Emma Jones Gibson. She was retired from Centra Health, Lynchburg General Hospital and was an active member of Living Word Baptist Church. Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Irving Wallace Grant of Lynchburg; one son, David L. Sprouse and his wife Tina of Lynchburg; five step-children, Phillip Grant of Rustburg, Michael Grant and wife Darlene and Virginia Bowling and husband Dexter both of Madison Heights, Carolyn Tyree and husband Barry of Evington and Terry Grant, of Lynchburg; three grandchildren, Randy Lee Sprouse and wife Savannah, Dusty Allen Sprouse and Brendan Parker Carwile; one great granddaughter, Kourtney Alizabeth Sprouse; 10 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren. A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Living Word Baptist Church with Pastor Marvin Suitt officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 7:30 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions be made in her memory to Living Word Baptist Church, 4130 Waterlick Rd., Forest, VA 24551.
