Born in Lynchburg on June 3, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Russell Thomas and Dolly Linberry Williams.
She was a member of Blue Ridge Community Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sisters, Shelvia McMillan and Helen Thomas; and her brother, Arnold Thomas.
In addition to her husband of 51 years, she is survived by her children, Frank Johnson, Rebecca Harvey and husband Harry, and Barbara Brewer; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Adams.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12 pm on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Blue Ridge Community Church, with Pastor Dave Kountz officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 until time of service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the family to assist with expenses.
