Barbara Honig Womack, born on April 8, 1946, departed this earthly realm on March 6, 2024, peacefully at her residence in Rustburg, Virginia. She was the beloved daughter of Willard Harris Honig and Edna Burks Honig, both of whom preceded her in death. She has now gained her angel wings and is holding her son for the first time in 56 years.
Barbara is survived by her loving daughters, Nancy W. Seamster, Virginia W. Coleman (Chip), and Veronica Bostic (Russell). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Caitie Coleman Hawley (Brian), Colton Cody Coleman (Nadia), and Brittany Danielle Bostic, as well as her great-grandchild, Tavin Lee Hamilton. Barbara is also survived by her sisters, Sylvia Silby and Linda Smith, and her cherished dog, Patches.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Danny Lee Womack of 44 years, her parents, one son, Danny Lee Womack Jr., two sisters, Joyce Ewers, Gail Parrish, and two brothers, Chester French and Phillip Honig.
Barbara's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and a passion for diverse interests. She adored the simplicity of life, finding joy in the music of Conway Twitty, the tranquility of fishing, and the camaraderie of camping with her family. Her love extended to her animals, especially Patches, Mocha, and Twilight.
An avid sports enthusiast, Barbara enjoyed bowling, skating, and proudly cheered for the Cowboys. She had a fondness for cop shows, the Hallmark Channel, and trivia nights with Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Barbara also found a sense of community on Facebook, connecting with friends near and far.
Special thanks go to her caregivers at Care Advantage, Heartland Hospice, and the Rustburg Rescue Squad for their compassionate support. Gratitude is extended to Russell Bostic, Chip Coleman, and Larry Wayne for their assistance with handyman projects. Special appreciation for her daughters, Nancy, Virginia, and Veronica for their sacrificial care and support to help Barbara live an awesome life.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at 12:30 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, 7404 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA, with Pastor Mack Almond officiating. Barbara will find her final resting place at Fort Hill Memorial Park on Fort Ave., Lynchburg.

The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Barbara's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave.
