

Betty Clowdis Arthur, 81, of Lynchburg passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late George Onyx Arthur, Jr. Born September 12, 1936, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Ennis Neil Clowdis and the late Evelyn Perrow Clowdis.
Betty was a retired co-owner of Arthur’s Industrial Maintenance. She was also the owner of The Doll House, and worked in the credit department at Leggett downtown. Betty was a member at Thomas Road Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cathy Boling.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Ellen Arthur Boling (Bobby) of Rustburg, Deborah Arthur White (Robert) of Goode and Vickie Arthur Claybaugh (Scott) of Lynchburg; eleven grandchildren, Daniel Boling, Natalie Boling, Amanda Boling, Neil Davidson White, Evelyn Claybaugh, Eleanor Claybaugh, Eric Claybaugh, Ethan Claybaugh, Eli Claybaugh, Emma Claybaugh and Everette Claybaugh; eight grandchildren, Jaylyn Boling, Makenna Boling, Harlee Boling, Savannah Boling, Roman Boling, Konnor White, Abel White and Rhylee Boling; and other loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 5, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. David Heerspink officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times at the residence of Ellen Boling.
