She was born in Halifax County on July 2, 1937, daughter of the late Cordie W. Fisher and the late Elaine Guthrie Fisher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Wolf and her son-in-law Donnie R. Mayhew.
Betty was retired from JW Wood. She enjoyed cooking and reading but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Janet Mayhew of Rustburg; three sisters, Carolyn Castles and husband Walt of Lynchburg, Brenda Metts of Raleigh, NC, and Debbie Hughes of Nathalie; a brother, Jimmy Fisher and his fiancé Sally of Nathalie; two grandchildren, Jonathan Moon and Allyson Mayhew and one great grandchild, Jase Mayhew.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
