

Betty Jean Creger Foster, 77, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on September 12, 1934 in Wytheville, VA, a daughter of the late Joseph M. Creger and Eddith Grubb Creger. She was predeceased by her parents, an older brother, Harold M. Creger, and her twin brother, Billy Dean Creger. She is survived by her husband of almost 57 years, John H. Foster; her daughter, Kellye Foster of Richmond; her son, Harold Foster of Colonial Heights, VA; and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Foster of Ashland, VA. Betty graduated from Wytheville HS in 1951 and from Lynchburg College in 1955. She taught in the Lynchburg School System for a few years and was the organist for Covenant Presbyterian Church for over 30 years. Always smiling, Betty was known for her cheerful, magnetic personality, her quick wit, and her Foster jokes. She enjoyed many sports, was an avid bowler, and will be missed by many, many friends.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Margie Anderson will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Covenant Presbyterian Church with visitation at 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.

Private interment will be held at a later date.
