

Born September 9, 1944 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles Henry and Eleanor Brooks Lawhorne Wright and was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Winston Lawhorne, Sr. and a great-grandchild, Aiden Campbell. Bonnie Jean was retired from CVS and was a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, East Lynchburg Congregation.
In addition to her husband, Bonnie Jean is survived by two daughters, Vicky C. Cox and husband Wayne and Rachel Campbell Hendricks, all of Lynchburg; one brother, Mack Almond, Sr. and wife Barbara, also of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Zachariah Cox, Jeremy Campbell, Savannah Cox, and Cassidy Callahan; two great-grandchildren, Tristen Campbell and Jacelyn Campbell; her mother-in-law, Lola Mae Perdue of Johnson City, TN; two sisters-in-law, Sandy Maines and husband, David of Greensboro, NC and Sissy Shelton of Johnson City, TN; a brother-in-law, Larry Shelton, also of Johnson City; a special friend, Bonnie Harper; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is also survived by her precious dog, Maggie Mae.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall on Wiggington Road with Robert Gilbert officiating.
The family wishes to thank Centra Hospice, Dr. Hillard, Dr. McCallum, Dr. John Carmack, the staff of the Oncology Department at Virginia Baptist Hospital, and the staff of the Oncology Department, 4th Floor East of Lynchburg General Hospital for their wonderful care.

Bonnie Jean Lawhorne Shelton, 68, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of Garry P. Shelton.
