Carl Anderson Kirby, Sr., 55, of Gladys, died, Monday, November 14, 2011, at his residence. He was the husband of Diana Hiner Kirby. Born March 15, 1956 in Quantico, he was the son of John Warwick Kirby, Sr. and the late Doris Shepherd Kirby.
Carl was an electrician for E&E Electrical.
In addition to his wife and father, Carl is survived by two sons, Carl Anderson Kirby, Jr. and his wife Melissa of Rural Hall, NC and Kevin Michael Kirby and his wife Melissa of Irving, TX; one daughter, Heather Dianne Kirby of Lynchburg; five siblings, John Kirby Jr. and his wife Sandra of Madison Heights, Helen Dianne Mayberry and her husband Robert of Altavista, William Preston Kirby of Rustburg, Robbie Lee Kirby of Forest and Michael Troy Kirby, also of Forest; and four grandchildren, Caitlynn Alexis Kirby, Kaylei Jade Kirby, Jace Michael Kirby and Kylie Amber Kirby.
The family will receive friends, 2-4 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2011, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
There are no scheduled services.
