Carolyn Elizabeth Minney

She was born September 21, 1946 in Norfolk to the late Alton Alanza Winslow and Ellie Marie Jordan Winslow.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Franklin Winslow and Richard Winslow and one sister, Rhonda Winslow.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roger H. Minney of Rustburg; her son, Timothy R. Minney and his wife Kellie of Forest; her daughter, Donna M. Bruckner of Lynchburg; two sisters, Betty Heath and Mildred Moore both of Chesapeake; five grandchildren, Korine Minney, Nicholas Minney, Jordan Bruckner, Justin Bruckner and Laura Bruckner; one great granddaughter, Harlee Rae Boling and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Carolyn was a homemaker and took great pride in being able to raise her children. She also loved serving her Savior. She was an active member of Hyland Heights Baptist Church. She was known for her contagious smile and beautiful personality. Her genuine love for people was obvious in everything she did.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Hyland Heights Baptist Church with Pastor Carl Weiser and Dr. J.G. Henry officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
