Born in Lynchburg, December 14, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Thomas J. Owen and Cottie
Williams Wingfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-son, Billy Elliott.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Michael Jefferson Elliott and his wife Ronda; her daughter, Sandra Elliott and her Fiancé Ken; her step-son, Tommy Elliott; her daughters-in-law, Diane Elliott and Frances Elliott; her grandchildren, Heather Doss and her husband Harry, Terri Elliott, Abby Elliott, Mikey Elliott, Marvin Elliott, Lee Showalter, Denise Cooper (Dino); and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Carrie had a passion for life and was active in the lives of her family and her community. She loved going to yard sales and perusing what they had to offer. Carrie loved planting in her flower garden and considered her dog and cat to be members of the family. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Huddleston Community Church and loved serving in the child daycare for her church.
A graveside service will be held will be held at Mentow Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday May 31, 2023 at 5:00pm, officiated by Pastor Rock Chocolate.
