Catherine Martin Tyree

Born July 1, 1955 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Willie Ray and Alice Coleman Martin. She was a former employee of Hickory Farms and was a member of Jordan Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Cathy is survived by three children, Mary Beth Overstreet and husband Ryan of Bedford, William Anderson Tyree and wife Joy of Madison Heights, and Charity Lynn Peters and husband Pete of Madison Heights; one sister, Alice Rae Foster and husband Ed of Lynchburg and five grandchildren, Allie Tyree, Glenn “Trace” Peters III, Anderson Tyree, Grace Peters, and Alex Tyree and other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Jordan Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Melvin Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Charity,
