Born in Lynchburg on August 20, 1959, she was the daughter of Elsie Fitzgerald Frazier of Lynchburg and the late Ronald L. Frazier. A devoted caregiver, Cathy spent many years serving others as a Nurse’s Aide, always offering compassion and kindness to those in her care.
In her earlier years, Cathy found great joy in singing, dancing, and bowling. She was known for her infectious spirit and her ever-present cup of ice-cold Dr. Pepper. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life, and she was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Church, where she took great comfort in reading her Bible and nurturing her spiritual life.
Cathy was a loving daughter, a devoted mother, and a proud grandmother. She leaves behind many cherished memories and a legacy of love and strength.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Barbara Fatigate and her husband Danny of Palm Bay, FL; two sons, Jonathan Swift and his wife Christy of Madison Heights and Jerry Swift and his wife Sharon of Bedford; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; her brother, Freddy East and a host of extended family members and friends who will miss her deeply.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor Carlton Duck officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
