Born in Amherst County, January 23, 1931, he was a son of the late Charles Edward Wilson and Ella Maddox Wilson. He was retired from Griffin Pipe Co. after 28 years of service and was a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church. Cecil loved the outdoors and fishing. He also loved his church.
One daughter, Cecilia Kirkpatrick and two brothers, Charles Wilson and Woodrow Wilson preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Viola Thornton of Hickory, NC and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Walkup, the Rev. Dwayne Tyree and the Rev. Woody Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 p.m.
