Charles Edward Hanna, 74, of Forest, died, Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Marlene Boone Hanna. Born April 17, 1938, in Roanoke, he was the son of the late Clyde Mitchell Hanna and the late Edna Mae Turpin Hanna.
Charles was an elevator mechanic for Otis Elevator Company, where he worked in Washington, D.C., and a member of Timberlake Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by four daughters, Donna Hanna-Gerholdt and her husband Tony, Susan Woolard and her husband Tim, Samantha Hanna and Elizabeth Hanna, all of Lynchburg; one brother, Ronald Hanna and his wife Judy of Belton, SC; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services at the graveside will be private. There will be a memorial service 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2013, at Timberlake Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Bryan Ferrell and Pastor Richard Jett. There will be no scheduled visitation hours at the funeral home.
