David Allen Campbell, 58, of Concord went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 7, 2021, while at the Salem Veterans Medical Center, after a series of lengthy illnesses. He was the son of Judy Nicholas Campbell and the late Ernest Campbell, Jr.
David was a life-long, faithful member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Concord, VA. He graduated from Rustburg High School and served in the United States Army, where he served in Korea at Freedom Bridge. He was a Past Worshipful Master in the Reedy Spring Masonic Lodge #203 and a member of the Scottish Rite Shriners. David was a volunteer in the Concord Volunteer Fire Department and the Concord Rescue Squad.
In addition to his mother, David is survived by his brother, Danny Campbell and his wife, Cathy Draper Campbell of Concord. Also, he is survived by nieces, McKenzie Campbell, Tabitha Hileman (Richard); nephew, DeWayne Sines (Katie); great nieces, Lauren Conway (Alex), Olivia Sines, Kinlynn Sines, Amelia Sines, Sydney Hileman, Dayna Hileman, Rowyn Hileman, Isabella Martin and Leyla Hileman; great nephews, William Sines, Hunter Sines, Kyle Sines and Mason Martin; cousins and other family members who loved David very much.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions and consideration of others, a memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021, at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Concord, VA with the Rev. Rick Duncan and the Rev. Bart Weekly officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church. Military Honors will be presented by the American Legion Post 36, Altavista, VA. Masonic rites will also be honored.
