Doris Doss Robertson

Doris Doss Robertson, Age 86 of Lynchburg, passed away on Sept. 11, 2018. Doris was born on Sept. 25, 1931 to the late Malcom and Virginia Doss. She was raised by the late Hallie and Ruth Burns. Doris was the devoted wife to the late Thomas C. Robertson (Whitey). She was the mother of the late Sandra Hicks and late husband A.C., Thomas R. Robertson (Dickie) and wife Nancy, Donna McFalls and late husband David. Doris was the sister of Maxine Dean and husband Buddy. She was the loving grandmother to Trina Long and husband Stuart, Jason Hicks and wife Alicia, Michael Robertson and wife Hannah, and Adam Robertson. She is also survived by seven sweet great-grandchildren, Baleigh, Savhanna, Doriann, Aiden, Dabney, Hallee-Grey, and baby Ruthie. Doris is survived by special nieces Diane Dean and Wanda Brockman, husband Billy, and daughter Elizabeth. Doris’s extended family includes the late Hallie Eagle, Larry Eagle and David Burns. She is survived by Nancy Shelton, Tony Burns, Teresa Shrader, Randy Burns, Kent Burns and two sweet felines, Hobo and Lillie Bird.

Doris was retired from G.E./Ericsson with 30 years of service. After retiring she enjoyed traveling, shopping trips, and working part time at Richland Hills Exxon. Doris was a lifelong NASCAR fan, bird watcher and flower gardener.

The family would like to acknowledge her daughter Donna and her son Dickie for years of devoted service to their mother. Special thanks to her friend Eleanor Bolling for her kind help to the family. We would also like to extend a thank you to The Carrington especially her favorite C.N.A Theresa for the cheerful care.

A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Fort Hill Memorial Park. There will be no visitation hours.
