Dorothy Mae Morris Carwile Camden, 88, of Amherst County, passed away Friday, November 4, 2011 at Fairmont Crossing in Amherst. Twice married she was the wife of the late Elbert William Carwile and the late Robert Tinsley Camden.
Born February 27, 1923 in Agricola, she was the daughter of the late Eppa and Eliza Cheatwood Morris and was also preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. She was a retired seamstress with Wilco Uniform Company and a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Camden is survived by two sons, Roger L. Carwile and wife, Cynthia of Apex, NC and Brad Carwile and wife, Christi of Amherst; six grandchildren, Stephanie Nevill and husband, Tanner, Stephen, Corrie, Sarah, Jeri Lynn Rock and husband, Caleb, and Rebekah Jo Carwile and two great-grandchildren, Hazel Mae Nevill and Grayson Everett Nevill.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. C. Douglas Pillow officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Whitten Park Avenue Chapel.
