

Dorothy Childress Hamilton, 77, of Spout Spring, died, Sunday, December 30, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Cecil Ronald Hamilton, Sr. Born December 18, 1935, in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert Arthur Childress and the late Emma Betsy Childress Childress.
Dorothy was a retired custodian for B & W and she was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Ann Hamilton Ambrosi and one brother, Douglass Childress.
Dorothy is survived by four children, Shelby Ann Hamilton of Lynchburg, Cecil Ronald Hamilton, Jr. of Pound, Conway Randall Hamilton of Spout Spring and Carl Randall Hamilton, also of Spout Spring; four siblings, Millie Christian and her husband Lloyd of Spout Spring, Shirley Irby and her husband Bentley of Nathalie, Hubert Arthur Childress, Jr. and his wife Rachel of Alabama and Mabel Bersch of Forest; four grandchildren, Christopher Hamilton of Lynchburg, Randall Scott Hamilton of Evington, Dakotah James Hamilton of Lynchburg and Savannah Hamilton of Amherst; one great-grandchild, Addison Boni; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m.., Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Daryl Donald officiating.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Dorothy Hamilton. There will be no scheduled visitation hours at the funeral home.
