Dorothy Moon Powers

Born on January 7, 1925 in Long Island, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Luther Aubrey and Grace Moon.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lynchburg.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by six brothers, Aubrey Moon, Rudolph Moon, Jesse Moon, Garland Moon, Melvin Moon, and Lawrence Moon and four sisters, Clara Moon, Lillian Moon, Emma Stephens, and Helen Varney.

She is survived by her son, Marty Powers of Lynchburg; her daughter, Wendy Rockwell and husband Bruce of Gladys; her two grandchildren, Hannah Jones and husband Nick of Glen Allen and Travis Powers and wife Amber of Lynchburg; her three great grandchildren, Linus, Brady, and Sophie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 7 to 8:30 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 11 am at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
