Edith Marie Tyree

Edith Marie Tyree, 81, of Forest, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Lynchburg. She was the wife of the late Moses Odell Tyree. Born February 27, 1936 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Hammond H. and Lense Marsh Miear and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Eula Mae Witt, Dorothy Miear, and Geneva Maddox and four brothers, Chuck, Buck, Bruce, and Ernest Miear. Mrs. Tyree was retired from the former Pettyjohn Shoe Factory. She was a member of the Greenview Church of God. Mrs. Tyree is survived by one daughter, Pamela Ballard; four sons, Michael Tyree, Ken Tyree, Billy Tyree and wife Sherry, and Bill Mayo and wife Nancy; four sisters, Erma Coleman, Jean Mason, Rebecca Lacy, and Linda Pulliam; three grandchildren, Jennifer Ballard, Willys Ballard, Jr., and Brandi Wright and two great grandchildren, Aubrey and Avery Wright. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at Virginia Memorial Park with Pastors Tammy Clark and Kristy May officiating.
