Edna Lee Pope

Edna Lee Pope, 82, of Rustburg, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Wilmer G. Pope, Sr. Born in Eagle Rock, October 24, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Walter Henry Stinnett and Virginia Petts Stinnett. She was a former employee of Kerns Bakery. She was known for her cooking and her devotion to her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Pam P. Wood and three brothers, Tom Stinnett, Butch Stinnett and Eugene Stinnett. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Don Miller (Karen) of Amherst, Mike Miller (Jackie) and Tony Miller (Mary) both of Madison Heights and Glenn Pope, Jr. (Bonnie) of Rustburg; three daughters, June Dobyns (Randy) of Madison Heights, Donna Branham (Dean) of Lynchburg and Brenda Ayers (Kurt) of Rustburg; four sisters, Susan Dobyns (Ray), Martha Gillispie, Maude Campbell (Dalton), and Eva Mawyer; one brother, Robert Stinnett; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Larry Pauley officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
