

He was born on February 2, 1936 in Amherst County, son of the late Royal C. McIvor and the late Margaret G. McIvor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Corrine T. McIvor and two brothers, Jack L. McIvor and Royal P. McIvor.
Edward served his country proudly in the United States Marines and retired from B.W.X.T. after 30 years. He was a member of Madison Heights Christian Church, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Garland-Rhodes Camp & Life Endowment and the National Rifle Association.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Deborah M. Fitzgerald (Ed) and Teresa M. Russell (David); a brother, Wilson McIvor; a sister, Betty Jane M. Jones; seven grandchildren, Jeff Masseth (Linda), Jenny McGowan (Bill), Kevin Masseth (Liz), Heath Wilkerson, Heather Reynoso (JP), Christina Asbury (Brandon) and Morgan Dooley (Mike). He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Runk & Pratt Forest for their outstanding care of their loved one.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Ken Parrish officiating.
