Elmo Tyree

Elmo Tyree, 75, of Lynchburg, died, Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at his residence. He was the husband of Nancy Parker Tyree. Born February 9, 1937, in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late Daniel Tyree and the late Callie B. Wade Tyree.

Mr. Tyree was a maintenance painter for Lynchburg City Schools and a member of Faith Evangel Ministries.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tyree was preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Fitzgerald.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Tyree is survived by three children, Jessica Glass (Jon), Mike Tyree and Sharon Campbell, all of Lynchburg; eleven grandchildren, Bryan Ottinger (Cris), Brent Cole, Crystal Moss (Brian), Ryan Tyree, Nathan Glass (Melanie), Kasey Cole, Whitney Campbell, Chad Glass, Zac Campbell, Noah Glass and Christian Glass; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, three sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted, 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2012, at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Brian Moss officiating.

The family will receive friends, 6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel and at other times at the residence.
