

Born in Lynchburg, May 22, 1946, he was the son of the late Clifford Hassel Leonard and Ruby Bennett Leonard. He was the retired owner of Lines by Leonard and was a member of Mackey Masonic Lodge No. 69 A.F. & A.M. and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors and prior to his illness, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed gardening and always looked forward to annual family vacations. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
One brother, C. Hassel Leonard, Jr. preceded him in death.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Tricia Lynn Scott of Lynchburg; one sister, Delores Cunningham; one sister-in-law, Genelle Leonard; two grandchildren, Mark Casey Scott and Jessalyn Taylor Scott and a number of nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Church of God Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, February 13, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
