

Frances B. Woody Millner, 79, of Lynchburg, went to be with our Lord, April 9, 2011, following complications from heart surgery at UVA Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jesse C. Woody, Sr. and the late Franklin J. Millner.
Born November 18, 1931 in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin Burks and Rachel Luella Michael and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carloyn J. Woody; two sons, Jesse C. Woody, Jr. and Gary D. Millner and a granddaughter, Tonya M. Woody. Frances was a retired employee of General Electric with thirty years of service and a long time member of Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Millner is survived by one daughter, Rachel W. Magann and husband, Butch of Lynchburg; two sons, Terry A. Woody and wife, Gayle and Craig L. Millner and wife, Teresa, all of Lynchburg. In addition, Frances was the nannie of seven grandchildren, Calvert J. Crawford, Julie C. Grubbs, Melissa J. Woody, Dana M. Woody, Mandy Millner, Nikki Millner, and Amber R. Woody; eight great-grandchildren, Jerame, Aziah, Juelz, Justin, Romel, Jaydan, Tyrell, and Kelissa.
She is also survived by three brothers, Benjamin F. Burks, Jr., William E. Burks, Sr., and Preston E. Burks, Sr. and two sisters, Doris B. Lindsey and Loraine B. Gunter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel by the Rev. Mark Grooms. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at the funeral home and other times at the residence, 101 Acres Court.
The family request memorial contributions be made to Thomas Terrace Baptist Church.
