Frances Powell Wood

Frances Powell Wood, 92, of Lynchburg, died, Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Rinsland Wood. Born November 30, 1920, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Treby Powell and the late Floy Powell.

Frances was a retired manager for The Eleanor Shop and a member of Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her husband and parents, Frances was preceded in death by one son, John Rinsland Wood, Jr. “Jack”; one brother and four sisters.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Phyllis W. Beilfus and her husband Bob of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Robert J. Beilfus, Jr., Susan Beilfus Jang and her husband Christopher, John Rinsland Wood, III “Trey” and Adam K. Wood and his wife Lynne; and eleven great-grandchildren, Megan, Jordan, Alexa, Quinnton, Diana, Gavin, Declan, Ellena, Kimberly, Renie and Adam, II.

A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2013, at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Bart Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends, 3-5 p.m., Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
