Gladys McCormick Harris

Born October 23, 1921 in Halifax County she was the daughter of the late Peter Wesley and Cassie Owen McCormick. She was a loving homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Harris was also preceded in death by brothers, James, Emmet, Lovelace, and John McCormick; sisters, Beatrice M. Holt, Fannie Perkins; grandson, Jeffrey Ogden; and son-in-law Ray Royall.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her children, Ruby H. Royall of Blackstone, Estelle H. Ogden (Cary) of Huddleston, G. Ann Harris of Evington, Reed (Cindy) Harris of Forest, Thomas (Dianne) Harris, Jr., of Bridgewater; sister-in-law, Eva Winebarger; nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Smith. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. and other times at the residence of Ann Harris.
