

Born in Campbell County, April 28, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Samuel Lee Jordan and Irene Mayberry Jordan. She was retired from the Blue Buckle Overall Co., that later became Imperial Redding Co. and was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Brian Cox; five brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph W. Cox, Jr. and Wayne L. Cox and his wife Vicki all of Lynchburg; two daughters, Fay C. Barese and Dolly C. Mays and her husband Allen all of Lynchburg; one brother, E. Clyde Jordan of Lynchburg; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Richard Jett officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2014 at the funeral home and at other times at her residence.
