Jaunita Yates Grant

Jaunita Yates Grant, 81, of Brookneal passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late James “J.R.” Grant. Born March 16, 1937, in Brookneal, she was the daughter of the late Weldon Yates and the late Mary Hamlet Yates. Jaunita was a retired employee of General Electric/Ericsson and a member of Eastbrook Baptist Church. Jaunita is survived by her children, Samantha Rosser (Glenn) of Madison Heights, Lawson Jordan (Kathy) of Evington and Dwayne Jordan (Lisa) of Bedford; one sister, Clara Toms of Brookneal; six grandchildren, Shannon Burns (Joey), Jenny Boyd (John), Doug Jordan, Kimberly Boyd (Shea), Ian Jordan and Eli Jordan; five great grandchildren, Blake, Kaylin, Kloey, Kenzy and Jaylen; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Crystal Wright. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
