Jenny Rebecca Foster Crawley of Lynchburg died August 22, 2013 at age 41. She leaves behind a husband of twenty three years, Dennis and two children, Samuel and Megan Crawley. She was preceded in death by her father Maynard P. Foster Sr. She is survived by her mother, Ruby A. Foster, her uncle James Conn (Barbara), her parents-in-law, Raymond and Joyce Crawley, two brothers Maynard P. Foster Jr (Sue), James “Mike” Foster (Amy), and a sister Mary E. Booker (James). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews Jamie Stinnett (Ashlee, Blake), Michael Foster (Shelly, Carleigh, Kendall, and Lindsay), Sharyn Booker (Kenny, Haley), Kimberly Booker, Christopher Booker, Sean Foster (Susan and Natalie), Valarie Thomas and Jennifer Thompson (Kaitlyn, Tabitha, and Allison) and Cole Sowers. She is also survived by special friends, Traveler, Daisy, Angus, and Bruticus who never failed to brighten her spirits.
Jenny attented Rustburg High School and Central Virginia Governors School where she excelled at math and science, receiving a National Merit Scholarship. She worked for Centra Health before leaving to work for the United States Postal Service as a delivery and customer services supervisor. Due to ailing health she was forced to retire early at age 36. Jenny made lifelong friends wherever she went and missed being with her postal family, but she felt blessed to have the time to spend with her children and family.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Larry Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
