

Born March 23, 1933 in Appomattox County, he was the son of the late John Asa Eagle and Tencie Martin Eagle Jamerson and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Dillard, Thomas, Robert, Lloyd, and Charlie Jr. and a sister, Delores (Sissy). Jesse was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. He worked for Falwell Well Corporation for twenty-five years as a well driller, retired from Archer Creek Foundry after nineteen years as a maintenance supervisor and worked for Lakewood Baptist Church for nineteen years.
Jesse is survived by his wife, Loretta Coleman Eagle; two daughters, Linda Kay Millner and husband Melvin of Amherst and Jessica Nicole Hammock and husband Cory of Evington; two sisters, Ann Campbell and husband Thel and Gracie Campbell, all of Lynchburg; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many special nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Cheryl Coleman of Evington, Brenda Sprouse of Lynchburg, and Joanna Miller and husband Richard of Forest; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Coleman and Tim Coleman, both of Altavista.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Frank Meredith officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Sunday, for one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
