Born in Roanoke, on April 24, 1952, he was the son of Hilda Worley Ward of Hurt and the late Rev. James Sidney Worley. He was a longtime member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. Jimmie worked as a lab technician for the Town of Altavista prior to his retirement. He loved to spend time tending to his yard, or relaxing in the pool. Getting away on vacation was one of his simple joys, especially going on cruises. One of Jimmie’s simple pleasures was perusing Amazon to find deals and see what he wanted. Above all he was a family man who cared deeply for his granddaughter, and his daughter in-laws family.
In addition to his father, Jimmie was preceded in death by his brothers in law; Danny Hall and Larry Hall.
Left to cherish Jimmies memory is his loving wife of 36 years, Alice Worley; his mother Hilda Worley Ward; his son John Michael Worley and his wife Brooke; his sisters Janet Worley, Kathy Dalton and her husband Stuart, Debra Beale and her husband Rodney; his niece Cara Dalton; his granddaughter Emerson (Emmy) Worley; his brothers in law Michael Hall and wife Sharon, Randy Hall and wife Sandy, John Hall and his wife Dixie; his sisters in law Linda Hall, and Veronica Hall; and his beloved bulldog Cammy.
