Joan Elizabeth Novak

Born on March 10, 1930 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Michael and Josephine Lemanski, Joan, also lovingly known as "Gus" was a lover of cooking, gardening, fellowship with her church friends, and most importantly her family.

She leaves behind her children, Cathleen Motz and husband Brian, Karen Novak, Michael Novak, Theresa Ward and husband Mark, Joseph Novak and wife Barbara, Matthew Novak and wife Holly, and Mary Thompson and husband Robert; grandchildren Candace Williams and husband Michael, Christopher Novak, Lorien Daniels and husband Josh, Dylan Adams and wife Sheri, Leanne Novak, Cheyenne Ward, Maggie Novak, Olivia Novak, and Lauren Novak; great grandchildren Ameyah Novak, Gage Williams, Myasiah Novak, and Mckayla Adams. Joan was known to open her home to all, and all loved her in return.

The family will have a period of visitation from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A mass service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 3015 Roundelay Rd, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
