He was born on August 4, 1923 in Norfolk and was the son of the late John H. Beahm, Sr. and Bessie L. Beahm. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Celia M. Beahm; two sons Terry L. Beahm and John P. Beahm and two brothers, Edward A. Beahm and Marshall C. Beahm.
He proudly served his county as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy for 23 ½ years before going to work at Newport News Shipyard for over 20 years. He loved gardening, traveling, fishing and loved spending time with his family and children.
He is survived by his wife, Vernie Tyler Beahm; children Keith E. Beahm, Vickie Beahm (David Eastman), Charlene A. Beahm; step-children Linda A. Tyler and Robert E. Tyler (Janet); eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating his life will be conducted on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Langhorne Chapel Community Church at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Dwight H. Weaver, Jr. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Langhorne Chapel Community Church, 15777 Leesville Road, Evington VA, 24550.
