Born June 19, 1930 in Lynchburg he was a son of the late John Robert Hodges, Sr. and Fannie Francis Vest Hodges Allen. He is also preceded in death by a son Michael Lee Burks. He was owner operator of Hodges Sign Company and a member of Heritage United Methodist Church.
JR is survived by his son Randall “Boo” Hodges and wife, Alicia; daughter Debbie Cooper Norris; brother, Robert Lee Hodges and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Chris Cooper, Ryan Cooper, Grant Burks, Jennifer MacKowiak, Zane and Alex Hodges and great-grandchildren, Tyler Cooper, Gabby and Garrett MacKowiak.
A Funeral service will be held Friday, December 21, 2012, at 2:30 p.m at Whitten Timberlake Chapel by the Rev. Gary Hoffman. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service 1:30-2:30 at the funeral home on Friday.
