John Emery Johnson

Born in Decatur, IL, February 19, 1949, he is the son of James Raymond Johnson and Mary Anna Marcus Johnson of Cedarville, OH. John was a television producer for the past 25 years with Liberty University and various ministries associated with Thomas Road Baptist Church. He has traveled throughout the world serving in support of the ministries of both Doug Oldham and Dr. Jerry Falwell. He was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by one daughter, Jamaica Conner and her husband Terry of Amherst; one son, John Johnson II of Richmond; six brothers, James Johnson, Richard Johnson, Robert Johnson, David Johnson, Marcus Johnson and Patrick Johnson; two sisters, Catherine Guthrie and Lily Haws; two grandchildren, Laura Grace Conner and Marianna Cadence Conner and his mother-in-law, Laura Lee Oldham Nicholson.

A service celebrating John’s life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Thomas Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Falwell and the Rev. Vernon Brewer

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
