Joyce Ann Ann Childress Grant

Born in Lynchburg, March 7, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Douglas Childress and Ruby “Nannie” Dunaway Childress. She was retired from G.E. after 40 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Irene Bishop Waid and Virginia Belle Tidwell.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Scott Grant and his wife Kathy of Concord and Timothy Wayne Grant and his wife Cheri of Lynchburg; two sisters, Edith Jane Evans and husband Sonny of Lynchburg and Nora Lee Narron and husband Vernon of Claremont; five grandchildren, Brandi Breznicky and husband Matt of Surfside Beach, SC, Bryant Grant and Spencer Doss of Lynchburg, Trevor Grant of Concord and Drew Grant and wife Ashley of Rustburg; three great grandchildren, Kaydance, DJ & Tabitha Grant all of Rustburg; her Aunt, Ruth Franklin of Lynchburg; 11 nieces and nephews and numerous friends and family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Donnie Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank the staff of Liberty Ridge Rehab. Center, Campbell County EMS and the staff of Lynchburg General Hospital for the love and care they provided.
