Joyce was born July 16, 1935 in Lynchburg, to Emmett Parker and Lillian Dotson Parker. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Homer R. Parker, Herman E. Parker, and Ernest Parker.
Before being a stay at home mom and homemaker, Joyce was a long distance operator for C&P Telephone, and then a ticket agent for Greyhound Lines.
Joyce loved taking care of her home, was a lifelong artist, especially of landscapes, enjoyed southern cooking, collecting antiques, making ceramics, and cats. There was rarely a time she didn’t have a beloved housecat.
Joyce is survived by her lifelong love and husband of 68 years, Robert “Bobby” Weringo and her three children, Lynn Weringo Carroll, Donna Weringo, and Tony Weringo. Joyce had three grandchildren, Patrick, Zachary, and Judith.
