Kathleen Gail Mayberry

Born October 22, 1947 in Campbell County, she was the daughter of the late Troy Douglas Tucker and Mary Louise Martin Tucker. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Jean Tucker France; a brother, James Michael Tucker, a niece, Lindsey Meredith Powell Rensch; a nephew, William Wright Markham, special aunts, Evelyn Eugenia “Nootsie” Martin and Shirley Jean Marshall. She was retired from Central Virginia Training Center and was a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir.

Mrs. Mayberry is survived by two stepchildren, John Wayne Mayberry and wife Teresa and Theresa Haris; four sisters, Mary Elaine T. Powell and husband Marion of Mechanicsville, Dianne Tucker Wright and husband Kenneth of Staunton, Janet Tucker Allen and husband David of Millersville, MD, and Joanne Tucker Rash of Mechanicsville; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor Jonathan Falwell officiating. Private family interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Gail would want each of us to always remember the compliments we received. If you have a great friend, take the time to let them know how you feel about them. Love of family and friends is powerful. Never forget to look for blessings; even the smallest of joys can brighten the worst of days.
