Larry Wayne Brooks

Larry Wayne Brooks, 58, of Lynchburg passed away July 7, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He retired from Aerofin after 30 years of employment. He was a life long member of Southview United Methodist Church and charter member of Christ’s Community Fellowship United Methodist Church. Larry was an active board member for Park View Community Mission where he worked to make sure people did not go to bed hungry. Because of Larry’s devotion thousands of people received food each month that otherwise would have gone without.

Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Emogene Goad Brooks.

He is survived by his father, Phillip Hardy Brooks, uncle Robert Brooks; aunt Marian E. Brooks; cousins, Carolyn Edmondson, Alan Brooks, Henry Lee, Virginia Hudson, Freddie Milner and other relatives and many many friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 12, 2012 at the Southview Chapel of Christ’s Community Fellowship, 1601 Cliff St. at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Phil Showers. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
