

Lawrence (Lonnie) McLane, 74, of Lynchburg, passed away, Sunday, August 18, 2013, at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was born April 25, 1939. He was the son to the late William H. McLane and Myrtle G. McLane and a brother to the late Betty Samples and Barbara Perdue.
Lonnie is survived by his devoted wife Kathy Shupe McLane, his dedicated step-son JW Isenhour and his loving wife Diane, and three beautiful grandchildren, Cassidy, Trey and Tristan. His special sisters and brothers in law Rosemary and Bud Wilson, Sandra and Ray Green, and Wanda and Jim Martin. A special Uncle Richard Padgett and his wife Ann, along with several nieces and nephews.
Lonnie worked in security for Centra Health and was retired. He was a lifetime member of the Campbell County Rescue Squad, a long-time member of 1727 Moose Lodge, and a member of Thomas Road Baptist Church. He was lead singer with the band Starlighters and a full member of the Harley Owners Group. On the evening of August 20, 2013 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel, the family will receive guests in memory of Lonnie from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations either directly to the family or to paypal.com to help the family with medical expenses.
