

Lester Earl Ellett, Jr., 72, of Lynchburg, died, Monday, July 9, 2012, at Heritage Green. He was the husband of Patricia Pugh Ellett. Born August 23, 1939, in Richmond, he was the son of the late Lester Earl Ellett, Sr. and the late Mary Spence Ellett.
Lester was the owner of Peter’s Newsstand. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, Lester is survived by three daughters, Deborah E. Elliott of Lynchburg, Vicky E. Sprinkle and her husband Randy of Rockville and Tamara E. Simonton and her husband Robert of Lynchburg; two sisters, Sybil E. Kesterson and her husband Ernest of Sunset Beach, NC and Mary E. Lucas and her husband Jay also of Sunset Beach, NC; one brother Andrew C. Ellett of Lynchburg; six grandchildren, Morgan S. Hendrick and her husband Josh, Robert R. Elliott, Lauren P. Sprinkle, Cory E. Stinnett, Patricia S. Elliott and Allison D. Simonton; one great-granddaughter, Hayden Grace Hendrick; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Bill and Emily Toler; and grand dog pal, Oliver.
A memorial service will be conducted, 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Jim Freeman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service until 8:00 p.m. and at other times at the residence of Patricia Ellett.
