Lynwood Eugene Harvey

Born November 29, 1921, in Henry Co., he was a son of the late Eugene Edward Harvey, and Purnie Merricks Harvey. He was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Banks Harvey.

Mr. Harvey was a United States Navy WW II veteran. He was retired from U.S. Gypsom, as an electrician, and was a former employee of Dan River Mills. He was a member of Schoolfield Pentecostal Holiness Church, in Danville.

Survivors also include three daughters, Pamela H. Jones and husband Maynard, of Lynchburg, Cynthia H. Siple and husband Sidney, of Richmond, and Sonja H. Vickhouse and husband Robert, of Richmond; two brothers, Robert S. Harvey and wife Elva, of Chesapeake, and Bill Harvey and wife Cynthia, of Jacksonville, FL; his sister, Kay H. Ward, of Chevy Chase, MD, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, at the Odd fellows Home, in Lynchburg, by Pastor Spencer Drake.

The family will receive friends after the service at the Odd Fellows Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Danville Memorial Gardens, Inc., by the Rev. Michael Pressley.

The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the grave in the Mausoleum Chapel at Danville Memorial Gardens, Inc.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Odd Fellows Home, Chapel Fund.
