Born in Lake Mills, IA, she was the daughter of the late Peter Tobias Peterson and the late Julia Kloster Peterson.
Marian was an active member of Timberlake United Methodist Church and a retired teacher from the Lynchburg Public School System. She also taught school in Iowa, Colorado and Minnesota and was an active member of the Woman’s Club of Lynchburg. She was co-founder and played the keyboard in the Irish Girls Sing-Along Group performing in area nursing and assisted living homes for the past 18 years. She loved cooking and traveling, especially motor cycling with Phil.
In addition to her husband, Phillip Lowell Brown, she is survived by two children, Kasia B. Moghaddam and her husband, Cameron, of Potomac Falls, VA and Gregoire L. Brown of Richmond; two grandchildren, Kayla Moghaddam and Keenan Moghaddam and one brother, Parnell Peterson and his wife, Mary, of Mason City, IA.
A Celebration of Marian’s life will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Timberlake United Methodist Church. A reception will follow immediately after the service in the Family Life Center of Timberlake United Methodist Church.
