Marie Parrish Wortham

Marie was born on November 6, 1925 in Warrenton, NC, daughter of the late Walter and Alillian Parrish.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Lee “Tinker” Wortham, Jr.; her brother, Walter “Buddy” Parrish and her son-in-law, Rev. Joseph D. Wilkins, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia A. Wilkins of Lynchburg and a son, Peyton Wortham (Harriet) of Chesapeake. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Laura Brown (Larry) of Amherst, Joseph “Denny” Wilkins of Gladys, and Kenneth Wilkins (Kysa) of Reston; five great grandchildren, Jaime Justus (Chris) of Gladstone, Melanie Mays (Jason) of Gladstone, Joseph Wilkins (Daisy) of Maryland, Katie Wilkins (AJ) of Front Royal, and Liz Cross (Paul) of Florida; eleven great-great grandchildren, Dakota and Madison Justus, Hunter Mays, Bryson and Joella Wilkins, Kenneth, Parker, and Paxton Cross, Kayla, Jessie, and Judy Wortham. She is also survived by a very special friend, Cheryl Saunders and her fur baby Prince.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 41 Perimeter Center E #550, Atlanta, GA 30346.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 pm on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Rev. Bill Evans officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home until 8:00 pm. Burial will be 1:00 pm Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery in Warrenton, NC.
