Marvin Joseph "Joe" Arthur Sr.

Marvin Joseph “Joe” Arthur, Sr., 85, of Evington, passed away Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Linda Blackstock Arthur. Born September 21, 1932 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late and John Hewitt Arthur and Agnes Blankenship Arthur and was also preceded in death by four brothers. Mr. Arthur was a retired parts manager with Fellers Chevrolet in Altavista with more than fifty-five years of service. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Evington. Mr. Arthur is survived by two sons, Marvin J. Arthur, Jr. and wife Lena of Madison Heights and Charals K. Arthur of Boones Mill and two grandchildren, Carly Sandvig and husband Travis and Nick Arthur. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with the Rev. Charles Schooler officiating.
