Melvin Robert Creasy

He was born in Bedford County on December 27, 1926, son of the late John Robert and Agnes Strawn Creasy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Belva Hensley Creasy and 2 brothers, Aubrey and Randolph Creasy.

Melvin was a Christian man; retired from Framatone Technologies and served his country in the United States Navy during WW II and Korea. He loved NASCAR, drove race cars from 1952 – 1974. He attended the Daytona 500 annually, starting when it was still held on the beach.

Survivors include his son, J. Larry Creasy and wife Billie Sue; daughter, Linda C. Harris and husband, Larry; a son, Winfred “Wink” J. Creasy and girlfriend, Patricia Webb; son, Robert N. Creasy and wife Mary Beth. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Virginia Memorial Park with Pastor Jack Barrett officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 – 6 pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel.
